The ALLEN COURT PROJECT UPDATE

Time for an update on the Allen Court Project! The last time we saw this project was in the winter, when it was covered in snow. Now that summer is in full swing, we wanted to show off just how beautiful this garden really is! These plants have been getting established for the last few years and are really thriving now that it’s warm.

This project started with redesigning the driveway. The outdated asphalt surface was removed and replaced with pavers coupled with river rock and steel edging. The old driveway created massive amounts of runoff during rainstorms but the new one is 100% permeable and eliminates all excess stormwater from going into the municipal system to cause flooding downstream.

We have created a highly natural garden for the front yard by using a series of native-ish plants. The garden started around the perimeter of the house but overtime has invaded the side yards and replacing almost all of the lawn. The plantings provide a symphony of colors and textures throughout the year. The siding chosen for the house is sustainability harvested Cumaru, a hardwood with a beautiful array of tonal variety. The Cumaru wraps around the entire house and faces the entire soffit. Have a look at our projects page for more details on this project.
